Abstract

Dengue fever is a disease caused by a virus that enters the body through an intermediate host female Aedes aegypty mosquitoes. The complete blood count for dengue infection often occurs around 70-80% decrease in counting the number of leukocytes and leukocyte count. Leukopenia in dengue infection is caused due to bone marrow suppression as a result of viral infection process. There is a significant relationship between the number of leukocytes with the degree of clinical dengue infection. This type of research is a descriptive study was conducted in June to December 2016. The sample used was the blood of patients with dengue hemorrhagic fever infection of 20 people. On examination leukocyte count the number of samples were checked manually using the chamber is calculated by reference value leukocytes examination is 4000-10000 / mm3. Examination of leukocyte count is checked using peripheral blood smear. Counting the number of leukocytes examination results showed that on the first day average is still normal and the second and third day leukocyte count decreased, then on the fourth day leukocyte count increased and returned to normal. Test results leukocyte count decreased in the number of eosinophils. Keywords: DHF, leukocyte count
