Abstract
Green mussel is foods that contain a lot of protein and very popular with the people of Indonesia because because it contains nutrients that are good for consumption. green mussels have properties filter feeder which result in microorganisms including bacteria pathogens such as Vibrio cholerae accumulate in the body green mussels. Vibrio cholerae is bacterial pathogens a rod-shaped curved with size 2-4 μm. These bacteria grow well at 37 ° C on the type of media containing mineral salts and asparagine as a source of carbon and nitrogen. This study aims to determine the existence of bacterial Vibrio cholerae on green mussels sold in tambak lorok Semarang. This type of research is descriptive with the number of 10 samples. Green mussel samples each planted media on media fertilizing alkaline peptone water (APW) followed with selective TCBS (thiosulfate citrate bile sucrose) and then planted media on biochemistry test, catalase test and oxidase test. Research result shows that green mussel samples sold in Tambak Lorok There are bacteria species Vibrio cholerae bacterium and are Vibrionaceae family.
