Abstract

Platelets are an important part of the body that acts as hemostasis. Platelet count can be examined using the method Fonio with a solution of Magnesium Sulfate 14% while the method using a solution Dameshek Rees Ecker. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a different platelet count Fonio methods and Dameshek method. This research is a cross sectional analytic approach taken Samples taken gradually as many as 16 people came from students at the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang. The result of examination Fonio method platelet count average is 358 700 / mm3, while the average Dameshek method is 513,000 / mm3. The results showed a platelet count of Fonio method is lower than Dameshek method statistical test paired sample t test distribution data 0000 so that it can be concluded there is a significant difference in platelet count Fonio method by method Dameshek.
