Abstract

Study aimed microscopic picturecellblock pleural effusion histology using 70% alcohol fixation and bnf 10% on HE staining. This type of the research is descriptive(cross sectional). Pleural fluid taken as many as 30 samples from 30 patiens, then examined with two liquid fixation. The results showed good processing core microscopic picture blue, pink cytoplasm slightly orange,and red erythrocytes. The result showed that the quality of the preparation pleural fluid cellblock by using fixation alcohol 70% shows the results are less good (100%), the quality of preparation cellblock pleural fluid using bnf 10% fixation showed better results (93,33%). Although the bnf 10% not recommended for fixation fluid cytology turns on tha fixation procces cellblock pleural fluid can provide better results.
