Abstract

Protein content in LCS can be done by automatic analyzer and dye. The automatic analyzer tool is not all in the program for LCS inspection but the LCS check is often done with the automatic method. The purpose of the examination is to compare the automatic analyzer method and the dye strip. The type of research is analytical research. Sample 39 was obtained from outpatient and in-patient of RSUP dr. Kariadi Semarang during August 2016 - February 2017 as many as 39 samples taken according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were tested by Wilcoxson test and Kappa test. The result of LCS protein automatic analyzer method was converted to semi-quantitative with mean of 109.3 mg / dl positive 3 (+3), highest of 720,1 mg / dl positive 4 (+4) and lowest 6,8 mg / dl negative (-) , Whereas in the dye method obtained the lowest negative result (-), the highest positive value 3 / (+++). Different test using Wilcoxon test showed significance value 0,243; <0,05 and test of suitability of Kappa test showed value of conformity 0,337; P <0.001. The result of LCS protein concentration showed that there is no difference between automatic analyzer method and dye filter, so the dye method can be used as an alternative for LCS protein content. Keywords: Liquor Cerebrospinalis (LCS), Automatic Analyzer, strip dye
