Abstract
Typhoid fever is an acute infection caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria that can attack the digestive tract. The diagnosis of typhoid fever can be confirmed by TubexTF examination and counting the number of leukocytes. Leukopenia is often found because Salmonella typhi bacteria secrete exogenous pyrogens of endotoxins in the form of lipopolysaccharides that stimulate macrophages to activate neutrophils (part of leukocytes) so that leukocytes in the blood will enter the tissues resulting in leukocytes in the circulation will be reduced. This study aims to determine the description of leukocyte count based on TubexTF positivity level in typhoid fever. The method in this research is descriptive which describes the number of leukocytes based on the degree of positivity tubexTF in typhoid fever, with Obsservational Descriptive design implemented in clinical laboratories Prodia Semarang January 2016 until December 2016. The results showed a picture of the 79 samples leukocyte counts most of leukopenia 42%, normal 40%, and leukocytosis 18%. Results TubexTF on leukopenia are on the positive scale of 4 to 8, normally found on all scales, and leukocytosis on a scale of 4, 6, 7, and 10. Keywords: Typhoid fever, TubexTF, Leukocytes
