Abstract

Background: Transformational leadership has become a leadership inherent in many modern organizations today and influential in modern organizations both small to large organizations. This research was conducted to know the description of transformational leadership style of nursing lecturer in the field of community at Muhammadiyah University of Semarang. The data were collected by using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Likert scale measurement 5 points. The number of samples used is 70 people. This study shows: (1) The learner's charismatic ability tends to have sufficient value of 48 (68.6%)(2) the ability of Idealist Effect lecturers tend to have enough value that is equal to 49 (70.0%) (3) the ability of Inspirational Motivation lecturers tend to have enough value of 50 (71.4%)(4) Intellectual Stimulation ability of lecturer tend to have big enough value that is equal to 48 (58.6%)(5) individual lecturer considers the ability to have enough value that is equal to 50 (71.4%). Method: This research type is descriptive quantitative. The number of samples is 70 respondents, with sample type possible sampling with Proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Result: In general, the transformational leadership of the nursing lecturer in the field of community in managing the class at the Muhammadiyah University of Semarang in the category of 6 respondents (8.6%), the value of 54 respondents (77.1%) and the less of 10 respondents (14.3%) Keyword :Transformational Lecturer, Charismatic Leadership, Idealist Influence Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individual Consideration
