Abstract

Personal hygiene should be done by all age groups to maintain the health of themselves. At the pre-school age children still needs help from parents in the fulfillment of personal hygiene such as bathing, cleaning oneself after defecation children, clean the hair, nails, ears, skin, etc. , Therefore, there needs to be special attention of parents to the fulfillment of personal hygiene in children can be achieved with good. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of meeting the needs of personal hygiene in pre-school children in kindergarten Mekar Jaya Semarang. The research was a descriptive study. The population in this study all students in kindergarten pre-school preschool Mekar Jaya Semarang numbering 70 children. The sampling technique used total sampling. The result showed that most of the cleanliness of the scalp and hair of the respondents are net category (68.6%), cleanliness of body skin clean categories as much as 88.6%, the cleanliness of the eye clean categorized wholly (100%), dental hygiene clean category as much as 64.3%, the cleanliness of the toenails and hands entirely clean categories (100%), and the cleanliness of the ear entirely in the clear (100%). Based on these results the school provide a special time to give knowledge about personal hygiene and conduct continuous observations to improve healthy habits all students.
