Abstract
Background : Breast cancer is a group of un normal cell on breast which growth rapidly. In the end, these cells create a lump on breast. One of the cancer treatment is chemotherapy, chemotherapy is administered frequency repeatedly in accordance with the chemotherapy drugs are given. On cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy have some side effects one of it is cachexia, which is sufferers who is experiencing weight loss in the extrim mark with anorexia, weight loss that causes the patient's nutritional status is down drastically especially at an advanced stage. This research aims to know the relationship of frequency of chemotherapy frequency with food intake (energy) and weight loss of breast cancer out-patients in tugurejo hospital semarang. Method : This research is explanatory research using other types of research and research methods used are analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Total respondents is 20. The samples are obtained using purposive sampling technique. Data of energy, intake are obtained from food recall. Data of chemotherapy frequency is obtained from medical record of Tugurejo Hospital and data of nutrition status is obtained by measurement of the anthropometry of breast cancer out-patients in Tugurejo Hospital Semarang. Statistics examination is using rank spearman. Result: There is no significant correlation between chemotherapy frequency with energy intake (p value 0,665) r = 0,103, and there is significant correlation between chemotherapy frequency with weight changes of breast cancer with p value 0,050 r = 0,444. Conclusion : Chemotherapy frequency has no correlation with food intake (energy) and chemotherapy frequency correlation with weight loss of breast cancer patients.
