Abstract

Backgraound: Teeth have several important roles in the human body that function as mastication, aesthetics and speech.. Tooth loss is a condition in which one or more teeth are removed from their sockets or sockets. Tooth loss can occur due to trauma, caries and periodontal disease. Loss of teeth can cause each individual to become less confident or grow shame and reduce the ability to chew and speak. Objective: knowing the public's perception of the installation of dentures. Methods: descriptive observational research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study used 100 people from Brebes District. The research analysis used univariate analysis to determine the distribution and presentation of each research variable such as economic background, education level, and knowledge of oral health. Results: This study proves that there are still many people who choose to make dentures by dental artisans due to several things, such as the price of dental care is more expensive than dental artisans, the time required for dental artisans to perform treatment is not long. This is proven based on the high economic background of the community with a monthly income of Rp. 2,500,000 – Rp. 3,500,000, which is 54%, with an education level of elementary-high school graduates of 51%, the frequency of tooth loss is 55%, the frequency of tooth loss is 55%. the community towards considerations in terms of treatment techniques, tools and materials, the community tends to choose dental artisans by 54%, the frequency of people choosing to install dentures on dental artisans is 57%, the level of public knowledge about dental and oral health is quite understanding of dental and oral health knowledge. Conclusion: people with middle economic status, the level of knowledge of dental and oral health are quite understanding and the average level of education of the people who graduate from elementary to high school, the community tends to choose dentures made by dental artisans.
