Abstract

Background: quality of life is a condition of patients can still feel physically comfortable, psychology, social or spiritual. Clinically the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy was successful when the patient's General State is in good shape, feel comfortable, no complaints and quality of life of cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy the better, so that if the patient does not obtain chemotherapy regularly then it will have an effect on the quality of life of the patient. This research aims to know the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. Methods: the study using the approach of cross sectional. The taking of the sample was done by accidental sampling. The sample in this research are cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy at the baitul Ma'wa RSI Sultan Agung Semarang, with the number of respondents 60 respondents. Results: this study showed that there is a comparison between the quality of life of cancer patients before and after undergoing chemotherapy in test using parametric paired sample t test with the results of the p-value: 0.200 chemotherapy before and after chemotherapy 0.088. Conclusion: most of the cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy have a good quality of life. Suggestion: health care personnel should provide support/motivation in cancer patients to improve quality of life for the sake of healing of cancer. Keywords: cancer, chemotherapy, quality of life
