Abstract
Background: There are 31.8% of primary school students who experience bullying. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission on throughout 2014 found 19 bullying cases in schools. According to the Indonesian Child Protection Commission, this case is various such as ridicule and also rough treatments that cause physical injuries. Purpose: To find out the occurrence of bullying in elementary school children. Method: This research used a quantitative descriptive method with the sample was the students of grade V and VI of Elementary School Purbo as many as 37 children. Results: Verbal bullying was 35 respondents (24 males and 11 females) with percentage (94,6%), physical bullying was 31 respondents (20 males and 11 females) with percentage (83,8%), psychological bullying was 29 respondents (17 males and 12 females) with percentage (78,4%) and sexual bullying was 25 respondents (16 males and 9 females) with percentage (67,6%). Suggestion: The school is expected to provide more guidance to students and tighten supervision or rules that prohibit bullying; therefore bullying might be prevented and not happen in the future.
