Abstract

Mental health is one of four major health problems in developed countries. The status of mental health is not a matter of relief from a variety of disorders, moreover, mental health with the capacity and quality in which individuals are able to adapt to change, crisis situations, demonstrating mediocrity with other individuals and enjoying life. The purpose of this study is to know the description of the mental health status of people in the village Purbo mountain area Bawang District Batang District. The design of this study is descriptive study. Respondents of this study all the people in the village Purbo mountain area Bawang District Batang District. The sampling technique used is random sampling with the number of 296 people. The results of most studies on the health status of the respondents are healthy category that is 72.3%, the risk of ODMK is 26.7% and the ODGJ is 1.0%. Based on these results, the risk of mental illness is a chronic disease that can be immediately performed treatment to health services so as to reduce pain, while for psychological disorders should be done health service.
