Abstract

Febrile seizures are the most common neurologic abnormalities in children, especially in children 6 months to 4 years. Parents who have sufficient knowledge about the management of febrile seizures can determine the best course of action for their child. So parents need to be given health education about the management of febrile seizures. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education on the management of febrile seizures of maternal knowledge in RS Roemani and RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. This research uses quasi experimental method One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampling method used is purposive sampling. The sample of this study amounted to 16 respondents of mothers who have children febrile seizures. Data analysis using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there was an influence of health education on the management of febrile seizures on maternal knowledge in RS Roemani and RSI Sultan Agung Semarang with p-value = 0,000 (p <0,05). The recommendation of this research is expected that the hospital can provide special room for education and counseling so that the acceptance of information can be delivered well Keywords: Health education, management of febrile seizures, knowledge
