Abstract

Background: softskill is a person's ability to manage work processes, build relationships between people and build interactions with others such as communicating, interpersonal relationships and leadership. Softskill nursing students can be trained through clinical education. Clinical education process, there is interaction between student practice with preceptor. Preceptor plays an important role in the achievement of clinical education goals, so in the implementation preceptor should be able to interact well with students practice. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship of preceptor interaction with softskill of nursing practice students in RSUD Tugurejo Semarang. Method: This study used cross sectional design. The sample in this study is all students of nursing practice (42 students) in Tugurejo General Hospital Semarang in July 2017. Data collection tool using questionnaire. Data analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis. Result: The result of data analysis using correlation analysis of person and spearman rank shows the value of p-value communicative skill (0,071), critical thinking and problem solving skill (0,359), teamwork skill (0,239), life long learning and information management skill (0,903) etnic, moral and professionalism (0.805), and leadership skills (0.473). So the p-value of the six variables is greater than 0.05 (p> 0.05), so there is no relationship between the preceptor interaction with the student practice softskill. Conclusion and suggestion: based on research result, it can be concluded that there is no relation between preceptor interaction with softskill of practice student in Tugurejo General Hospital. It is expected that the preceptor of RSUD Tugurejo can improve the good interaction towards the students of practice, so the students softskill the practice becomes better.
