Abstract

Background: Today's national development is progressing rapidly and independently in order to create a solid industrialization era with mechanisms, electrification and modernization. The presence of human in the production process of the company is very important, because in the production process using the engine power as an operation. Therefore the need for control and implementation of OSH program is expected to suppress the number of work accidents that often occur in every company in Indonesia. PT. Blooming Armada Jaya has been implementing Safety Management System (SMK3) since 2009. Although P2K3 team has applied SMK3 in that company still there are workers who are not obedient to the rules that have been made, so still found work accident in the company. To know the difference of accident rate of employees before and after the application of SMK3 in PT. Blooming Fleet Jaya Magelang. This research method uses quantitative analytic with Crossectional approach. The population in this study were all workers in PT Mekar Armada Jaya from 2008 to 2010 as many as 370 and sampling with total sampling method. Data analysis used in this research is using non parametric test Wilcoxon Test. Result of statistical analysis of average achievement score of work accident before application of SMK3 is equal to 0,67 whereas after application of SMK3 down by 0,19. There was a significant difference in the incidence of occupational accidents between the before and duration of SMK3 application with p = 0.000. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it is expected that employees can apply SMK3 and clarity and operational procedures due to accidents can result in reduced.
