Abstract

Background: Flies are one of the Order insects of the Order belonging to the Hexapoda class or insects have the largest number of genera and species that comprise 60-70% of all Anthropod species. Flies are disease-carrying vectors and their presence is an indication of poor hygiene somewhere that needs to be measured for density for control purposes. Objective: To know the relationship between landfill, sewerage, humidity and temperature with flood density level in Mrican Market and Kedungmundu Market Tembalang District. Method: This research is an analytic observational with cross sectional approach, independent variable: garbage disposal, SPAL, humidity and temperature. Dependent variable: Density of flies. Samples of 45 traders with sampling total sampling technique. Result: The result of the research showed that garbage dump category was not good 17 (37,8%), open category sewerage 19 (42,2%) and humidity category according to 24 (53,3%). From the results of calculation using Chi-Square test states that from the four variables that are suspected to have relationship with the level of fly density in Pasar Mrican and Pasar Kedungmundu Kecamtan Tembalang, there are only three variables that proved to have a relationship that is garbage dump (p-value 0,007) Sewerage (p-value 0,002), humidity (p-value 0,000). Conclusion: There is a relationship between landfills, sewerage, and humidity. There is no correlation between temperature and fly density.
