Abstract

Kata kunci : Donor darah, kolesterol sebelum dan 1 jam sesudah donor Cholesterol was one of the substances contained in the body from the digestive process that came from food and produced in the liver before entering the bloodstream. Blood donor activity would affect the blood volume in composition which caused the cholesterol levels decreased. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in cholesterol levels before and an hour after blood donor. The type of research was analytic. The samples of total 16 respondent that followed blood donor activity. The samples which were examined in this research were vein blood + anticoagulant EDTA about 3 ml to see the differences of cholesterol level. The examination of cholesterol levels was calculated using micro tool of 200 and then data test by using paired sample t-test. The results of this study found that the average cholesterol level before blood donor was 203 mg / dL and cholesterol level after an hour of donor was 172 mg / dL, so it was obtained P value: 0.000 which could be said p <0.05 which meant Ho rejected. The conclusion in this study was there was a significant difference between cholesterol levels before and an hour after the blood donor. Keywords: Blood donor, cholesterol before and an hour after donor
