Abstract

Diabetes melitus tipe 2 disebabkan oleh terjadinya resistensi insulin perifer atau produksi insulin berkurang yang disebut sebagai sekresi insulin. Zn merupakan unsur esensial untuk sintetis, penyimpanan dan sekresi insulin. Zn berhubungan secara lansung dengan penyimpanan insulin, integritas struktural. Adanya sekresi Zn oleh sel b pankreas terhadap respon tubuh akibat adanya peningkatan konsentrasi gula dalam tubuh manusia. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kadar Zinc dengan gula darah pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Penelitian dilakukana secara observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional dengan menggunakan sampel serum darah. Tahapan penelitian diawali dengan pengambilan sampel penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 kemudian dilakukan analisis kadar Zn menggunakan alat spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan antara kadar Zn dengan gula darah pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Kata Kunci : Diabetes melitus tipe 2, kadar Zinc (Zn) Type 2 diabetes mellitus is caused by the occurrence of peripheral insulin resistance or reduced insulin production known as insulin secretion. Zn is an essential element for synthetic, storage and insulin secretion. Zn correlates directly with insulin storage, structural integrity. The presence of Zn secretion by pancreatic b cells to the body's response due to an increase in sugar concentration in the human body. The aim of this research is to know the correlation of Zinc level with blood sugar in type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research was done by observational analytic with cross sectional approach by using blood serum sample. The research phase begins with sampling of type 2 diabetes mellitus and then analyzed Zn content using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (SSA).
