Abstract
Obesity is an imbalance between height and weight. Obesity is commonly known through the Body Mass Index indiator (IMT). Obese patients usually perform a series of lipid profile checks. The results of examination of the four major fat components in the blood, namely total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides. The objective of the study was to investigate the association of obesity with lipid profile of patients aged> 30 years. Methods of cross sectional study, subjects of 54 samples examined lipid profiles in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Based on BMI results, 10 people (18.05%) mild obesity, and 12 people (22.2%) severe obesity. Results of lipid profiles total cholesterol of mild obese patients between 52.0-287 mg / dl. Patients with mild obesity with normal cholesterol level 8 people, and moderate 2 people. Patients with severe obesity normal cholesterol levels 6 people, while 4 people, and high 2 people. Based on the triglyceride levels of obese patients between 46-271 mg / dl, in mild patients with mild triglycerides normal 9 people, and a threshold of 1 person. Levels of triglycerides in obese weight, normal 10 people, threshold 1 person, and 1 person high. Based on HDL cholesterol levels of obese patients between 10-179 mg / dl, normal mild obese patients 2 people, and above normal 8 people. Levels of HDL cholesterol obesity weight, normal 5 people, above normal 7 people. Based on LDL cholesterol levels obese patients between 36-163 mg / dl, normal mild obese patients 9 people, and above normal 1 person. LDL cholesterol levels are obese, severe, normal 10 people, above normal 2 people. After the result data was tested the correlation got p> 0,05 meaning there was no significant relation between obesity with lipid profile. Keywords: obesity, IMT, lipid profile
