Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological process in most women, occurs after the meeting of sperm and ovum, grows and develops in the uterus for 259 days or 37 weeks or up to 42 weeks. The period of pregnancy is divided into three periods, namely, first from the conception until three months, the second trimester from the fourth month until six months and the third trimester from the seventh month until nine months. The examination of hemoglobin level is to know the existence of anemia, it is done by laboratory analysts for the effort in prevention, discovery, handling and or referral of all anemia cases in pregnancy. The author considers that it is necessary to conduct the research which is aimed to know the description of hemoglobin level in first trimester and third trimester on pregnant women at Puskesmas Bulu Lor in year 2017. The research type is descriptive, a research towards 139 pregnant women at Puskesmas Bulu Lor. The research result of hemoglobin level on first trimester was in the range of 9-14,30 g/dL, average 11,55 g/dL and standard deviation 1,14. The hemoglobin level which was less than 11,0 g/dL in the amount of 41,01% (57 people), while 58,99% (82 people) had normal hemoglobin level. The hemoglobin level in trimester III was 9,40-13,60 g/dL, average 11,72 g/dL, and standard deviation 1,02. Hemoglobin level which was less than normal 30,94% (43 people), while 69,06% (96 people) had normal hemoglobin level. Keywords: hemoglobin, trimester
