Abstract

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of health problems in the world including Indonesian, so that new antibiotics from natural substance are needed. Pink oyster mushroom is a natural substance that is considered having antimicrobial compounds. The aim of study is to determine antibacterial activity and MIC value of oyster mushroom methanol extract on MRSA. The extraction method used is maceration with methanol solvent, while the test method used is method of wells and microdilution. Concentration of extract used for antibacterial activity test was 200 mg/200 μl, while for MIC test using extract concentration 100-0,05 mg/100 μl. Antibacterial activity test results in a zone of inhibition of 5,0 mm, while MIC test results can inhibit bacteria to the lowest concentration of 25 mg/100 μl.
