Abstract

Dengue fever was a type of infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. This dengue virus infection disease could weaken the immune system in a relatively short time. One diagnosis of dengue fever with laboratory tests was by counting the number of thrombocytes in patients. Where dengue fever sufferers will experience thrombocytopenia, the thrombocytes count was <150,000 cells/mm3. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of thrombocytes patients with dengue fever in Weru Sukoharjo Health Center. Type of this research was descriptive. The study was conducted on 30 dengue fever patients who conducted examinations at the Weru Health Center, Sukoharjo District during the period of October to December 2017. Laboratory tests were carried out using a hematology analyzer. The results of the study revealed that the majority of respondents were teenagers (12-25 years old) and had a fever for 4-7 days suffering from thrombocytopenia with a platelet count of 20,000 - 140,000 cells/mm3.
