Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that is characterized by hyper-glycemia and impaired metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins associated with a deficiency in absolute terms or relative from work and or insulin secretion. Diabetics nephropathy complications associated with proteinuria. Proteinuria was cast as a predictor of the progressivity of renal disease. The purpose of this research is to know the description of urine protein levels in diabetes mellitus patients at Puskesmas Tirtomoyo I Wonogiri. Research conducted with descriptive method. Results of the study on 54 patients (18 men and 36 women) obtained a positive proteinuria in 6 men and 8 women, whereas at the age < 45 years (0) and age > 45 years (14). In conclusion, more proteinuria occurred in male patients (33,33%) than women (22,22%) and high at the age > 45 years (27,45%). Keyword: diabetes mellitus, proteinuria.
