Abstract

Background::Worms is a infectious disease caused by parasites in the form of worm. Some factors that cause the incidence of worms is a environment factors and behavior factors. Worm infections generally occur in children and toddlers, the prevalence of worms in Indonesia varies between 2.5% to 62%.The purpose of this study was to determine the behavioral factors of the habits of children wearing footwear, children playing on the ground, the habits of mothers to wash their hands, habits of children to wash their hands, habits of cutting nails, habits of children to cut nails and environmental factors of type of floor and type of toilet with the incidence of worms..Method:This type of research is analytic observational with a cross sectional approach and a sample of 33 children aged 4-5 years. Results:Toddlers who have the habit of wearing bad footwear 15.2%, toddlers who have a habit of playing on poor soil 51.5%, mothers who have 15.2% poor hand washing habits, toddlers who have hand washing habits 33.3% less good, mothers who have bad nail cutting habits 27.3%, Toddlers who have bad nail cutting habits 51.5 %%, 12.1% soil type, and cemplung 6 latrines , 1%. Toddlers who were infected with helminthiasis were 21.2%.Conclusion:There is a relationship between children's hand washing habits, cutting children's nails, type of floor, type of latrine with the incidence of helminthiasis and there is no relationship between the habit of wearing footwear, the habit of children playing on the ground, washing their hands, cutting the nails of mothers with the incidence of helminthiasis in children under five Dawungan Village.
