Abstract

Background:diseases caused by work (PAK), is illness arising out of employment. Occupational diseases impact on decreasing productivity because it can affect the working hours, the ability to work and may even cause loss of jobs.For research purposes to know the factors that affect lung vital capacity on street vendors in the Terminal Mangkang Semarang.Method: this type of research is explanatory research (explanatory research) with the approach of cross sectional.Primary data in this research include age, period of employment, smoking habit, the habit of sports, a history of the disease and lung vital capacity.Secondary data in this research is the number of the bus that runs in a Terminal Mangkang Semarang.The population of the research was the 31st street vendors who are in the Terminal Mangkang Semarang.The sample in the study are all the street vendors in the Terminal Mangkang totalling 31 traders.Results:Univariate analysis of the youngest age 25 years old and the oldest 54 years. Working period < 5 years (9.7%) and > 5 years (90.3%).Skinny nutritional status of 8 people (25.8%), more weight 8 people (25.8%), obes, 4 people (12.9%), and 11 normal persons (35.5%).Have a history of pulmonary disease (48.4%). Have a habit of smoking (71%). Do the habit of sports (32.3%).KVP is not normal (64.5%). There is a relationship between the age with the KVP p value = 0.008, the work with the KVP p value = 0.037, nutritional status with the KVP p value = 0.023, a history of pulmonary disease with KVP p value = 0.023, smoking habit with the KVP p value = 0.019, habit of sport with the KVP p value = 0.01. Conclusion: the variable most correlated against KVP namely smoking habit with a p value 0.05 < 0.001.
