Abstract

Background: Bullying is a common phenomenon happened among adolescents, especially in schools. It can be in the form of physical, verbal, and psychologic. Based on a preliminary study conducted in 10th grade of Y Vocational High School Semarang, 8 of 10 adolescents have not known about bullying and 8 of them were comforted being bullying’s victims. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find out the descriptive of knowledge and role of peers, about bullying in adolescents in 10th grade of Y Vocational High School Semarang. Methods: The method of this research was descriptive analytic design by using cross sectional approach. As the sample of the research, there were have 67 participants of the students of Y Vocational High School Semarang by using simple random sampling. The instrument used was questionnaire. Results: The result shows that students' knowledge of Y Vocational High School Semarang was in the good category by 54 respondents (80,6%), enough knowledge by 12 respondents (17,9%), less knowledge by 1 respondents (1,5%). The same peers showed the participate category by 42 respondents (63%) and the do not participate 25 respondents (37%). Conclusions: The conclusion is the good knowledge and peers have a role in bullying. Knowledge of good respondents proved to the question of the kinds of bullying, by 67 respondents has their correct answer. Peers have a role in bullying and it proved in the results of the questionnaire, by 52 respondents has agree if the one who bullies other by being invited their peers.
