Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a disease that can cause death in the sufferer. Hypertension can cause serious complications, such as heart disease, kidney and stroke. Hypertension can be marked with headache to the back of the neck although not all hypertensive patients experience head pain. Headache experienced in hypertensive patients can be done complementary approach one of the action warm compress on the neck. The purpose of warm compresses is to reduce the intensity of pain in hypertensive patients because it can cause vasodilatation so it can relax muscles and improve circulation to increase the oxygen and nutrient intake into the tissues. Effective compress action to reduce headache in hypertensive patients at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang. The authors apply to two patients with hypertension who experience headache. Technique of collecting data by observation and interview. There is a decrease in the intensity of headache in hypertensive patients after a warm compress action on the neck with an average decrease of 3-5 with a numerical rating scale measurement.
