Abstract

Based on data released by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012 the prevalence of skin irritation (diaper rash) in infants is quite high 25% of 6,840,507,000 babies born in the world mostly suffer from skin irritation (diaper rash) due to the use of diapers. Symptoms that often arise are widespread redness, glittering, sometimes resembling burns, red pustules, blisters or scaly wounds, sometimes wet and swollen in areas with the longest contact with diapers, such as the inner thighs and groin folds. One of the prevention is by giving olive oil. Objective: to reduce the degree of diaper rash in infants with diaper rash. Method: The design used in the writing of this case study is a descriptive study. Results: there was a significant change between before and after the administration of olive oil with the results of the degree of diaper rash An. EK from 2 to 1, An SA from 2 to 1 and An. MM from 2 to 0. Conclusion: Olive oil has been shown to reduce diaper rash in infants with diaper rash. Keywords: diarrhea, diaper rash, olive oil.
