Abstract
Background: Essential or idiopathic hypertension is hypertension with no apparent pathological underlying pathology. More than 90% of cases are essential hypertension. Causes of hypertension include genetic and environmental factors. Symptoms that often appear in hypertension one of them is headache. Pain is defined as a state that affects a person and his or her existence is known when someone has experienced it. One of the examinations that can be done to determine the level of pain is by using the Numeric rating Scale. the interpretation of the ankle brachial index can be used as an effective treatment indicator for patients with hypertension. NRS is a pain measurement that is often used in pain measurement and has been validated. One of the prevention is with warm compress on the neck. Objective: to reduce the scale of pain in hypertensive patients with pain complaints on the neck. Method: The design used in writing this case study is descriptive study. Results: there was a significant change between before and after a warm compress on the neck with the result of pain scale Ny. H from 6 to 2, Ny. SR from 6 to 2 and Ny. S from 6 to 1. Conclusion: warm compresses on the neck are proven to decrease the value of the pain scale in hypertensive patients with pain complaints on the neck. Keywords: Hypertension, Neck Pain, Warm Compress.
