Abstract

Postoperative pain is often a problem for patients, so nursing interventions are needed to reduce the pain. One form of intervention is music therapy. The purpose of this application is to evaluate the effect of music on the process of reducing pain scale in patients after appendectomy surgery. This application uses a Case Study case study. Where the author used a subject with two patients treated with pain after appendectomy surgery at Bhayangkara Hospital Semarang who experienced pain problems that were given non-pharmacological care for 1 days, methods of data collection using interview techniques, physical examination and documentation. Descriptive analysis method by comparing the conditions before and after music nonpharmacology techniques were carried out by measuring the numberic pain scale. After applying the technique using music for 3 days. The results obtained are a decrease in pain scale and the patient can control the pain scale. It can be concluded from this application that the process of reducing the pain scale of patients after appendectomy is more significant by using music therapy techniques.
