Abstract
Background: Surgery are all treatment measures that use invasive methods by opening the body part to be handled. Pain management can be carried out with various techniques including hypnosis, distraction, guided imagination and efflurage relaxation techniques. Efflurage relaxation technique is a relaxation technique by massage the area around the focus of pain that occurs so that the surrounding muscles become relaxation. The purpose of this case study is to apply the efflurage relaxation technique to reduce pain in patients with postoperative appendictomy on the 2nd day in Anggrek I Room dr Loekmono Hadil General Hospital Kabupaten Kudus. Research Method: The method in this study was descripstif study with a case study approach, which describes cased management in applyed evidence based nursing practice by used the nursing process approach. The research subjects in this case study were patients with appendictomy postoperative day 2 in the Anggrek I Room dr Loekmono Hadi General Hospital Kabupaten Kudus. Results: The results of this cased study showed that prior relaxation techniques efflurage pain scale of patients under management I with pain scale 6 and pain scale of patients under management II with pain scale 7. After relaxation techniques efflurage the pain scale of patients under management I and patient of case II under management with pain scale 3. Suggestion: With this case study it is expected that patients will manage pain by using eflurage relaxation techniques to reduce pain.
