Abstract

KETANGUHAN IMPACT FRACTURE KOMPOSIT LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE BERPENGUAT SERAT SABUT KELAPA Sigit Haryanto C2A012005 progam Studi S1 Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Email : sigitlika7@gmail.com ABSTRAK Sejalan dengan ilmu pengetahuan dan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin berkembang saat ini, serta banyaknya peminat bahan komposit banyak dipergunakan dalam bidang indrustri otomotif. Serat sabut kelapa dipilih sebagai bahan campuran pembuatan komposit karena jumlahnya yang melimbah sebagai limbah dan kurang dimanfaatkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik fracture impact dan mengetahui sifat tarik komposit serat sabut kelapa, sedangkan pada penelitian ini matrik yang dipergunakan berupa matrik low densitypolyethyelene dan mengunakan serat sabut kelapa yang dipendekan 1-2mm dengan variasi berat serat sabut kelapa 0%, 2%,4% dan 6%. Proses pembuatan komposit dilakukan dengan metode injection molding. Hasil penelitian dari komposit menunjukan bahwa energi tertinggi pada pengujian impact yang diperoleh dengan konsep EWP ( Essential Work Of Fracture ) terdapat pada komposit dengan variasi berat 4% yaitu 239,6 Kj/m^2. The purpose of this research to know characteristic fracture impact and know the true nature of pull composite fibers palm-fibre kelapa, while in this study matrik use of matrik low densitypolyethyelene and use fibers palm-fibre kelapa dipendekan 1-2 mm with the variation of heavy fibers palm-fibre kelapa 0 %, 2 %, 4 % and 6 %. Process of making composite done with the methods injection a molding.The results of the study of composite showed that energy on the highest testing impact obtained by the concept of EWP ( Essential Work Of Fracture ) there are in composite with the variation of heavy 4 % namely 239,6 Kj / m^2.
