Abstract

Acquisition of Riskesdas data in 2013, there was an increase in the prevalence of DM from a total population of 250 million, one of which was the Province of Central Java with the highest number of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) sufferers as many as 509,319 people in the city of Semarang. The incidence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in the Kedung Mundu Health Center reached 150 cases in September 2016. Nurses have an important role in providing nursing care, especially regarding the provision of health education in patients with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this case study is to apply health education about diabetes mellitus to diabetes mellitus patients to glucose levels in diabetes mellitus patients at the Kedung Mundu health center in Semarang. There were three respondents who were diabetics with blood sugar levels of more than 200 mg / dl who were managed for three days at home and given health education about diabetes mellitus accompanied by pharmacological therapy from the Puskesmas. The results of the study showed a decrease in blood sugar levels and increased diit compliance in all respondents. The results of this study are expected to be an input for the implementation of health education as one of the non-pharmacological measures to reduce glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.
