Abstract

Hypertension is a health disorder characterized by systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure higher than 90 mmHg. High blood pressure is very dangerous because it can aggravate the work of the heart organs. For that, it is necessary to handle blood pressure without side effects, namely the treatment with a combination of carrot juice therapy. One of the good content of carrot juice to lower blood pressure is potassium. Potassium is a powerful diuretic that helps maintain blood pressure balance. Potassium also has a function as vasodilation in blood vessels. Vasodilation in blood vessels can reduce peripheral pressure and increase cardiac output so that blood pressure can be normal. The purpose of this application is so that the author is able to apply nursing care to families with hypertensive disorders. The author applies two hypertensive patients. There is a decrease in blood pressure after being given carrot juice for 5 days with an average decrease of 10-20 mmHg. Keywords: Hypertension, Carrot Juice
