Abstract

Communities in Indonesia are still often use fried oil repeatedly. At jelantah many oil contained in saturated fat and free radicals results from the concentration of fat. Increased consumption of saturated fats can cause a rise in cholesterol levels in the blood. Tempe sourced from soy is able to improve cholesterol and prevent atherosclerosis. The purpose of the study is to know the influence of the giving flour tempe against the total cholesterol levels of white male wistar rats (rattus norvegicus) induced oil jelantah This type of research design experimental true Randomized Pre test post test Control Group. The research sample was 18 white male Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups. The first group only feed standard, group to two standard feed and sonde jelantah oil and third group standard feed and flour mixture tempe induced miyak jelantah. Statistical analysis using One Way Anova and continued statistical tests Post Hoc LSD to know the difference is meaningful. The results of the study before the cholesterol levels of 80 mg/dl, after 71.67 mg/dl and penururan of 8.33 gr/dl in Group feed standards, cholesterol levels before 69 mg/dl after 86.33 mg/dl and an increase of 17.33 mg/dl in the groups sonde jelantah oil and cholesterol levels before 75 mg/dl after 61.67 mg/dl and a decrease of 13.33 mg/dl on the feed and flour mixture group of tempe in the induction of oil jelantah. From the results of statistical tests, no significant effects on total cholesterol levels before and after the granting of a tempe flour oil induced jelantah p: 0,819 (p < 0.05). Conclusion there is a significant influence on the total cholesterol levels after administering oil induced tempe flour jelantah p:0 ,035 (p < 05) and there is a difference in the treatment given only sonde jelantah oil and flour in the induction of tempeh oil jelantah.
