Abstract
Examination of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate can be achieved by manual and automatic. Manual method takes a reading after 1 hour, while the automatic method only takes readings after 20 minutes so that the reading of the results of the time difference is whether there are differences in examination results ESR manual method and automatic. The purpose of this study to determine differences in the results of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate with manual and automatic methods. This type of research is research analitik.Sample porposif taken as many as 30 patients, taken from patients who complete blood check in the Clinical Laboratory Prodia Semarang, then the sample is examined using both methods. Based on the descriptive results indicate that the results of the LED with the manual method is higher than the results of the LED with automatic methods, with the percentage of 43% LED manual, 37% LED automatic, and the result is equal to 20%. ESR examination results showed the average value of 8.63 mm LED manual methods / hour, at least 1 mm / hour and a maximum of 19 mm / hour with standard deviations 5.13 mm / hour .By automatic method obtained a mean value of 8.93 mm LED / hour , at least 1 mm / hour, maximum of 18 mm /hour with standard deviations of 5.25 mm /hour. Different test between manual and automatic ESR method p value> 0.05 p = 0.52 so can be concluded that there was no difference significantly on LED inspection with manual and automatic methods. Key words : ESR , manual ,automatic
