Abstract

Vitamin D is one of the nutrients needed by the body to maintain calcium and phosphate levels. Lifestyle that tends to avoid the sun, and lack of intake of foods containing vitamin D, can lead to vitamin D deficiency. The main source of vitamin D is sunlight-derived ultraviolet B. Salatiga gets enough suns during the year, but no studies have documented vitamin D levels in Salatiga residents. The patient's vitamin D levels were measured by a total vitamin D 25-OH test. The purpose of this study was to examine the benefits of the total 25-OH vitamin D examination, and to measure the levels in the patients of the Prodia Salatiga Clinical Laboratory by sex, indication, and interpretation of the results. The type of research is descriptive research. The sample of this research is patient data from January 2013 to December 2016. This check is done at National Referral Center Prodia by CLIA method using DiaSorin Liaison instrument, the result is produced in ng / ml unit. Results of a total 25-OH vitamin D examination may be a supporting data for monitoring treatment against the disease and being a reference for supplementation for patients. Mean total vitamin D 25-OH total of patients was 18.75 ng / ml. The minimum total vitamin D 25-OH content of respondents was 4.07 ng / ml, while the maximum content of the respondents was 65 ng / ml. Research shows, 79% of respondents are in interpretation of insufficiency results. Keywords: Vitamin D, vitamin D 25-OH total, Prodia Salatiga patient
