Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) as a disease which characterized by the occurrence of hyperglycemia and metabolic disorders of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins connecting with an absolute or relative of work or insulin secretion. One of the factors that affect the incidence of high blood sugar is obesity, especially that are central. Excessive fat deposits in the body can result to resistance is affects the blood sugar levels of patient’s with diabeties mellitus. The type of research to know relationship about the nutritional status and blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus type II, method of research is observational analytic, design correlation with cross sectional approach. The research process held in 13-18 February 2017 in the Morodemak village with a total sampling technique. Total of samples 68 people. Research result show that average nutritional status of obesity as 23 people (33.8%) with bad blood sugar levels above average ≥180 mg / dl. There was a significant relationship nutritional status and blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus type II in the Morodemak village (p <0.05). In conclusion the high nutrient status on a person with diabetes mellitus type 2 the higher the blood sugar levels. People are expected to maintain their health by maintaining a regular diet and avoid things that can cause an increase in the nutritional status Keywords: Blood sugar level, diabetes mellitus type II, nutritional status.
