Abstract

Early Breastfeeding Initiation is breastfeeding as soon as the baby is born, usually within 30 minutes-1 hour after the baby is born. In general, breastfeeding is influenced by several factors, including health personnel support, maternal condition (physical and psychological), socio-cultural changes, hospital management, infant health, mother's knowledge, mother's attitude, environment, milk substitute marketing, and parity. This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes of nurses to the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation in the delivery of Sectio Caesarea at RSI Sultan Agung Kota Semarang. The method used in this research is Non Probability Sampling. The population in this study were all the nurses involved in the implementation of IMD in the delivery of Sectio Caesarea in the Operating Room of RSI Sultan Agung Kota Semarang, which amounted to 30 nurses. The results showed that there was a relationship between nurse knowledge and attitude with the implementation of IMD with p value = 0.000 (p <0,05). Recommendation of this research is expected nurse to improve knowledge about the importance of early breastfeeding initiation and more motivated to perform practice of early breastfeeding initiation in mother of maternity by Sectio Caesarea.
