Abstract

ABSTRACT Seravika, RA. 2023. Development of Polya Problem-Based E-learning Media on Integral HOTS Material. Thesis, S1 Mathematics Education Study Program. Semarang Muhammadiyah University. Advisor I: Eko Andy Purnomo, S.Pd., M.Pd., II: Dwi Sulistyaningsih, S.Si., M.Pd Keywords: E-Learning Media, HOTS, Polya, Integral Integral topics in calculus are often problematic for students and many studies state that students have difficulty understanding the concept of integrals. The learning language in the module is difficult to understand and the lack of learning media regarding calculus questions makes it difficult for students to learn. The above underlies this research in developing practical learning media on integral material. In learning media, the material chosen is HOTS questions with the Polya settlement method. The choice of HOTS as material is because the HOTS method allows students to apply, analyze, evaluate and think creatively which increases the ability on HOTS, the ability on LOTS will also increase while the Polya method as problem solving is a method that is quite effective in solving mathematical problems. The aim of this research is to develop E-learning media based on polya problem solving on HOTS integral material that is valid and practical to use and assist students in understanding integral topics in calculus. Product development from this study used the ADDIE method with data collection carried out at the Mathematics Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang with a purposive sampling method on 30 students accompanied by a questionnaire. The results of the study show that E-learning media products based on polya problem solving on HOTS integral material are valid to use based on validation from a team of medial experts at 4.05 or 80.95% and material experts at 4.65 or 93.05%. Apart from that, the product is also practical to use based on the results of a questionnaire from students in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, and efficiency with a score of 91.18%. The results of the pre-test and post-test conducted on 30 students also showed that students' HOTS abilities increased after learning to use the website products used. In the initial assessment, it was found that students were in the moderate HOTS category (13%), good (57%), and very good (30%), while in the final exam the HOTS category of students increased to a good category (10%), and execellent (90%). In future research it is recommended to develop E-learning media based on polya problem solving on integral hots material at a more effective stage, using more material topics on integral material.
