Abstract
This study is to find out the effectiveness of jigsaw to improve speaking ability. In this research, the researcher implemented Jigsaw technique. The actions were designed to improve the students’ speaking skills and the students’ motivation to learn and to speak in English. In addition, they were implemented according to the curriculum and in line with the course grid arranged before the implementation of the actions. This study was an experimental research.. The researh showed that t-test was higher than t-table. So, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It meant that there was a significant difference between students’ speaking comprehension in experimental class which was taught by jigsaw technique and in controll class that was taught without using jigsaw technique.Based on the reseach result analysis the conclusion shows that jigsaw technique is effective and applicable for teaching invitation and other themes the are related to the students’ speaking ability. Jigsaw technique also can overcome students’ difficulties towards speaking comprehension. Keywords: Experimental, Jigsaw, Speaking.
