Abstract

Breastmilk is one of the best nutrition for the first 6 months of baby;s life. Exclusive breastfeeding means that the baby only given breastmilk without another food for 6 months. Exclusive breastfeeding has influenced by the support of family to motivate the mothers in breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics correlation and support of mothers to give exclusive breastfeeding for baby under 6 months, the study use correlative descriptive design with cross sectional. The research take place in DesaSekaran on July 2017 with 73 respondents, use purposive sampling techniq. The result of this study is to show that there is husband support correlation, family and health service in giving exclusive breastfeeding. This is happening because the support given to mothers whom breast feed will make mothers to feel confidence in giving exclusive breastfeeding, specially if the support come from the husband and family. The recommendation of this study for the next researcher in using total sampling. Keyword :breast feeding, breastfeed mothers support, characteristic.
