Abstract

Ozon merupakan salah satu gas yang dapat digunakan sebagai desinfektan untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Waktu paparan gas ozon merupakan cara yang digunakan untuk mendesinfeksi bakteri Escherichia coli. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat jumlah bakteri Escherichia coli yang telah dipapar gas ozon dengan waktu paparan 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 dan 30 menit serta kontrol tanpa gas ozon. Sampel penelitian adalah bakteri Escherichia coli yang terpapar gas ozon. Hasil jumlah koloni Escherichia coli pada media CCA setelah terpapar gas ozon 5, 10, 15, menit berturut-turut yaitu 5, 10, 15 menit adalah mean 2,5 x 106, 1,25 x106, 0,5 x106 CFU/ml, dan 20, 25, 30 menit tidak terdapat pertumbuhan bakteri. Control atau tanpa paparan gas ozon mean adalah 9 x106 CFU/ml. Waktu paparan gas ozon yang paling efektif dalam membunuh bakteri Escherichia coli yaitu pada waktu 20 menit. Kata kunci: gas ozon, Escherichia coli, Waktu paparan. Ozone is one of the gases that can be used as a disinfectant to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. Time of exposure to ozone gas is a way used to disinfect Escherichia coli bacteria. The purpose of this study was to observe the number of Escherichia coli bacteria exposed to ozone gas with exposure time of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes and ozone gas control. The study sample was Escherichia coli bacteria exposed to ozone gas. The results of the number of colonies of Escherichia coli on CCA media after exposure to 5, 10, 15 minutes of ozone gas were mean 2.5 x 106, 1.25 x 106, 0.5 x 106 CFU / ml, and 20, 25, 30 minutes there is no bacterial growth. Control or no exposure to ozone gas mean is 9 x106 CFU / ml. The time of exposure to ozone gas is most effective in killing Escherichia coli bacteria ie at 20 minutes.
