Abstract
Blood glucose level can be checked from whole blood sample which is from capillary or venous, serum, and plasma blood vessel with anticoagulant of Sodium Fluoride (NaF), Na-oxalate, Na-citrate, or Lithium-heparin. Sodium Fluoride (NaF) is an anticoagulant which is often used for examination material sampling of blood glucose level, because NaF is considered to be capable in obstructing the glycolysis process. The examination of blood glucose level is generally using serum samples because it is done simultaneously with other test, so that more practical and efficient. The research goal is to know the comparison of blood sugar level of serum, NaF plasma, and K2EDTA plasma sample. The research type is analytic with cross sectional. The research result of serum blood sugar level average was 174 mg / dl, NaF blood sugar level average was 177.15 mg / dl, EDTA plasma blood sugar level average was 74.10 mg / dl. The statistic test result with Kruskal Wallis was obtained p> 0,05 that means there was no significant difference on blood sugar level of serum, NaF plasma, EDTA plasma. This is because the timing checking is done right after the sample taking (about 10 – 15 minute) so this process of glicolysis which influence the blood sugar level. Keywords: blood sugar level, serum, plasma, EDTA, NaF
