Abstract

Urine examination one of them is microscopic examination of urine sediment. The element of urine sediment can give an illustration of the severity of a person's illness, one of which is kidney failure. Samples of urine that are delayed more than 2 hours will change the order in the presence of germs and changes and damage to the arrangement of the cylinder. Urine should be checked in fresh condition to get accurate inspection results. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the number of urine cylinders examined immediately and delayed 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours at room temperature. The type of research is analytic or pre experimental. The study population was inpatients who suffered from renal failure performing routine urine examination of purposive sampling sampling technique. with a sample size of 6 patients with 24 experimental units. The results showed that the number of urine cylinders examined immediately at room temperature had an average of 20.50 cells / 10 LPK, with a minimum value of 10 and a maximum of 38. The number of urine cylinders in the mean sample of cylinders count was promptly checked and 2 h after delay decreased as much as 12.84%, decreased at 4 hours after delay of 15.96% and on delay at 6 hours delay of 20.51%. There was a significant difference in urine cylinder examination performed promptly, 2 h, 4 h and 6 h with p value <0.05 where at 2 h delay (0.031 <0.05), delay of 4 h (0.019 <0.05) and at a 6 hour delay (0.015 <0.05). Research can be concluded that there are differences in the number of urine cylinders examined immediately and delayed 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours at room temperature Keywords: Urine Cylinder, Delays
