Abstract

The patient's LDL cholesterol examination is recommended to fast for 10-12 hours before checking to ensure that the results of the examination are not affected by recent food consumption. Many patients still ignore it, either because it is forgotten, difficult to do and along with other examinations that require different fasting is a blood sugar test that requires 8-10 hours of fasting. The aim of this research is to know and analyze the difference of result of LDL cholesterol level of fasting patient of 8 hours and 12 hours. Method of analytic research with cross sectional approach. The subjects were 15 students of class XI SMK PGRI 2 Salatiga with serum samples from vena. The results were analyzed descriptively with the acquisition of LDL cholesterol level of 8 hours of fasting patients on average 90.376 mg / dl and 12 hours of fasting sample 83.491 mg / dl. Test the normality of data using Shapiro Wilk. Statistical analysis using different test Paired t Tests obtained p-value 0.231 which means p-value> 0.05, showed no significant difference between fasting cholesterol level of 8 hours and 12 hours.
