Abstract

Background: Drugs are chemicals that when inserted into the body can cause addiction or addiction. Drug Abuse is done by almost all community groups, not least the group of students and college students. Differences in the characteristics and learning curriculum between health and non-health college students may be related to different levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices in the prevention of drug abuse.This study aims to determine the different levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practice of drug abuse prevention between health college students and non-health college students. Method: The type of this study is descriptive analytic with cross sectional study design. The sample of this study is college student of 2015/2016 year class of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang as many as 105 college students. Data analysis was done univariat and bivariate. Results: 97.5% of health college students have a level of knowledge in good categoriy, 32% of non-health college students have a level of knowledge in good category. 100% of health and non-health college students have an attitude in the positive category. 93.8% of health college students have practice in good category, 64% of non-health college students have practice in good category. Mann-Whitney's different test results are knowledge level (p value = 0,000), Attitude (p value = 0,002), practice (p value = 0,000). Conclusion: There is a difference level of knowledge, attitude, and practice of drug abuse prevention between health and non health college students of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang.
