Abstract
Background :Albendazole is being administered with diethyil carbamazine (DEC) in endemic filariasis area to eliminate lymphatic filariasis and helminth infections. Methods : This Explanatory study used cross sectional design conducted among 120 school children in two type village : treatment target filariasis and non treatment target filariasis. The variabel of take medicine worm, washing hands, defecate, latrine utility, footwear. The sample were analyzed using flotation faecal technique by microscope to detect infection helminth. Data were collected using questionnaire and chi-square statistic test. Result : About 1,7% student was infected helminth Ascaris lumbricoide. A significant difference washing hands before eats, footwear at home, footwear when sport at school (p=0,000, p=0,048, p=0,000). A significant difference criteria of washing hands and footwear in two elementary school (p=0,010, p=0,042). Conclusion : There’s one school children in non treatment filariasis had infection helminth. That chidren had less washing hands and not take medicine worms. Keywords : prevalence helminthiasis, drug administration DEC and albendazole, in two type village: treatment target filariasis and non treatment target filariasis.
