According to WHO in Setiati (2014), the prevalence of hypertension in the community is estimated to range from 10-18%, most (+ 95%) of patients in the community are primary or essential hypertension. The American Heart Association (AHA) notes that high blood pressure is found in one in every three people or 65 million people and 28% or 59 million people suffer from prehypertension (Setiati, 2014). Given the impact of hypertension is not only a physical problem, but also the psychosocial problems such as anxiety. Anxiety can be controlled with deep breath relaxation measures. Relaxation of deep breath is an attempt to relax the tension of the soul. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques on reducing anxiety levels in hypertensive patients. The sample amounted to 2 clients, the place of study was conducted at the Puskesmas Mayong 1 Jepara. The results of the application of deep breath relaxation therapy that was applied for five days proved to be very effective to apply. Both clients were more calm, cooperative, and more relaxed.
